Long Range Planning Committee

The Long Range Planning Committee assesses what the congregants want, need, and expect from the synagogue.  We identify ways to make the congregation a significant part of all the members’ lives, taking into account the diversity of the individuals.  The synagogue must be prepared to cope with change, attract unaffiliated Jews, grow, and remain a positive central force within the Jewish community.

Long Range Planning takes the above information and, keeping our mission statement in mind, forms the vision statement for the congregation.  Plans are formed and executed to achieve the vision.  Finally, our mission and vision are communicated to the members and reflected in the temple’s governance structure.

In the Fall of 2007 Temple Sinai kicked off SinaiVision, a comprehensive long range planning effort that involved almost every member of the congregation.  After months of surveys, parlor meetings, and breakout sessions a report was issued to be used as a guideline as we move forward.  The SinaiVision 5 Year Strategic Plan can be reviewed here.
