Temple Sinai is an inclusive Reform synagogue that offers a warm welcome and a nurturing home to all who seek a meaningful and enduring connection to Judaism. We are currently entering our 35th year as a congregation and our 1st year with our new spiritual leader, Rabbi David Lipper.

Houston boasts a thriving Jewish community and Temple Sinai is the only Reform synagogue on the west side of the city. Our members come from across the Houston metropolitan area, including the rapidly growing communities of Katy and Sugar Land. The congregation is comprised of a mixture of Jewish and interfaith families from many different backgrounds and age groups.

People often ask me what sets Temple Sinai apart – and my answer is always the same. It is the members that make Temple Sinai a special place. More than just a synagogue, Temple Sinai is a community full of friendships and a mutual belief that Judaism should be a joyful experience. New and prospective members are often amazed at how welcome they feel from the instant they walk through the door.

As a mid-sized congregation, our members feel personally connected to one another as well as the Rabbi and staff. Of course, Temple Sinai offers all of the wonderful things you expect from a synagogue – joyous religious services, top notch educational opportunities for children and adults, active auxiliary groups such as Brotherhood, Sisterhood and Youth groups, and plenty of fun social activities. Still, it is our members that make Temple Sinai a special place.

If you are new to the Houston area or a long-time resident looking to join a synagogue, I encourage you to visit Temple Sinai. Come and experience a Friday night Shabbat service and see for yourself why Temple Sinai is known as the Warm and Friendly Congregation.
